This film is an "epic" panoramic anti-pandemic documentary completed by Xinhua News Agency's Latin American Headquarters Branch, which lasted ten months and brought together dozens of Latin American regional branches and local media in Latin America. It exclusively records the entire process and touching stories of China-Latin America cooperation in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. In this sense, it has great historical significance. From the very beginning of planning, the film has a high political position, trying to interpret Chinese President Xi Jinping's lofty concept of "global community of health for all" in the form of images. It has both an international perspective and Latin American characteristics. In the film, Xinhua News Agency reporters are not only witnesses of the major historical event of the pandemic, but also recorders of the times. This dual identity makes the film present a subjective perspective of sharing difficulties with Latin American people and an objective perspective of China-LatAm cooperation in fighting the pandemic from a national perspective. In addition, there are many exclusive materials in this film. For example, in the story of the China-Argentina direct flight of anti-pandemic supplies, the Buenos Aires branch of Xinhua News Agency was the only foreign media allowed to shoot. We interviewed many key figures such as Argentine officials and captains on missions. The branch also got valuable images of the largest hospital in Argentina treating COVID-19 patients using medical supplies from China to save lives.
