Title:China Cambodia Cultural Corridor
Introduction:
The Cultural Corridor features exhibition zones along passenger routes and static display counters in the central area of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport. Its inaugural exhibition, “World Heritage Face-to-Face, Civilizations Learn from Each Other Hand-in-Hand,” curated by Cambodia’s Khmer Magazine, showcased 100 posters of Chinese and Cambodian world heritage sites and over 80 intangible cultural heritage items. Serving as a platform, this airport displays exquisite imagery of world heritage, cultural creations, and folk traditions from both countries and the Lancang-Mekong region, building bridges for mutual learning while enhancing travel experiences and amplifying the solid friendship internationally. During the event, two countries launched the “World Heritage Tourism Project”. Themed as “10 World Heritage Sites in 10 Days”, the project promoted heritage routes from Siem Reap to Kunming, allowing visitors to experience Yunnan's unique lifestyle. The “World Shines Because of You” global imaging campaign and the premiere of documentary “Journey Through Cambodia and Kunming” were also launched, with quarterly cultural events planned. 2025 marks the Year of the Snake in both the Chinese lunar calendar and Cambodian zodiac tradition. Both the ox and the snake play significant roles in the cultural and artistic traditions of China and Cambodia. On February 20, the “Auspicious Ox Meets Divine Snake: Yunnan-Cambodia Cultural Treasures Exhibition” took the “Auspicious Ox” and “Divine Snake” as its central themes. Through an innovative “media + museum” model, it selected representative artifacts from museums of both countries along with traditional ethnic folk images, presenting them through a combination of photographic displays and physical exhibits. This vividly showcased the distinctive cultural characteristics of both China and Cambodia, as well as Yunnan’s unique ancient Dian bronze culture.
