Title:Creative Popular Science Video: Delta - Colours
Introduction:
The television programme called DELTA is at the forefront of scientific popularization in Hungarian television production. The show has been revitalized with 3D and 2D animations, as well as virtual studios, which has significantly changed the production. As part of the latest innovation, we have introduced an AI-based television presenter, Ada Bíró, who is revolutionizing the show and interaction with viewers. The AI’s visual and voice models ensure that Ada Bíró’s character, knowledge, and the show’s appearance continuously evolve, allowing viewers to stay updated on the progress of technology. Ada Bíró is inspired by Ada Lovelace, born Ada Byron. Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician and writer who was best known for writing the specification for the first mechanical computer, the analytical calculator, designed by Charles Baddage. For the past few decades, the Delta programme has been one of the defining scientific and educational shows on Hungarian television. Over its 40-year history, it has become part of the legendary lineup of programmes in Hungary. The current aim of the show is to explain scientific results by examining concepts from various fields of science, all while entertaining and educating the audience.
Communication Effect
and Social Influence:
The program Delta has been showcased on multiple online platforms beyond Duna Television Channel. Through cross-sector publicity, it has gained extensive media exposure, becoming the focus of numerous articles, reports, and conference discussions. The AI host has subverted the traditional role of a host, attracting significant attention. “Ada Bíró” actively interacts with audiences on social media but strictly adheres to one principle: it never claims to be a natural person. Feedback from communication channels indicates that AI virtual characters have been widely accepted, with the scale of their supporters and interactive communities far exceeding that of opponents. This reflects the inherent affability of AI and visual language models. Although currently only applied to TV programs, its potential can be extended to other areas of life. Educational programs are widely popular, and the Delta series is no exception. The appearance of AI host “Ada Bíró” carries profound social significance. The emergence of virtual personalities in mainstream media marks the increasing integration of AI into daily life. Audiences are able to encounter the “humanized” side of AI, reducing their sense of unfamiliarity and threat toward it. This constitutes an important step in technological acceptance, especially when machines possess human-like traits or may replace humans. In the long run, such developments are likely to transform educational, entertainment, and even medical systems, enhancing overall efficiency.

About Innovation:
Cooperation Methods: One aspect of collaboration takes place between technology developers and the programme editors, focusing on understanding new technical possibilities and aligning them with client needs. The advancement of technology generates new content elements and inspires editors, while content demands stimulate technical developments, prompting the production company to innovate and program. New technical elements and AI solutions are built rapidly, almost weekly. The show evolves alongside technology. The AI avatar can adapt based on viewer feedback using both visual and audio models, allowing for changes in the program's content and appearance. 3D graphics and studio spaces provide significant creative freedom for screenwriting and directing. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the demand for equipment and props related to real locations is significantly reduced, leading to more environmentally conscious solutions on the path to “green filming,” which is also part of our innovation. Content: The virtual spaces, 3D animations, and graphics are aligned with the script, thereby supporting the understanding of textual content. With the help of the AI presenter, the show presents complex scientific concepts and news in a simple and comprehensible manner, enriching the content with visual elements such as infographics, animations, and AI-generated images and videos. Technical Means: For the 3D virtual spaces and animations, we use graphic engines, tracked multi-camera setups, and V-Cam technology, as well as the Unreal Engine software for creating animations. Implementing the AI presenter requires advanced technologies, such as machine learning and modules that provide AI-based speech synthesis, to create a lifelike avatar. The background systems must ensure real-time data processing. Communication Channels: The AI presenter can reach viewers not only through traditional television platforms (such as Duna Television Channel) but also via social media, mobile applications, and websites for interaction. For example, the AI presenter can initiate real-time polls, respond to audience feedback to enhance engagement and interest, and provide a multilingual cross-platform virtual experience (on platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram).
