My name is Mohammad Jubair Hasan. I am working for Dhaka-based business daily called The Financial Express as Senior Staff Reporter. Now, i am covering issues relating to banks and financial institutions for the specialised media outlet. I went to China twice in 2017 and 2019. I took part a 10-month long fellowship programme sponsored by China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA) and visited around 40 Chinese cities of various provinces in 2017.

I personally visited a number of cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) during my 10-month long fellowship sponsored by China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA) in 2017. I was very surprised to see how the economic belt has been helping reshape industrial landscape of China in an inclusive way through reducing the regional growth disparity. Being encouraged by the development, i wrote the article drawing the attention of Bangladesh's policymakers to implement such plan of actions in a coordinated way by using the benefits of Padma Multipurpose Bridge, a key project of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Bangladesh government has already taken various initiatives to develop industries and other facilities along the mighty River of Padma to improve living standards of the people living in the least developed but very potentials coastal regions of the country like the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB).
