Using a "countdown" narrative method, DAXING: THE BIGGEST AIRPORT IN THE WORLD selects multiple subsystems of the airport for follow-up shooting, answering questions one by one from high-quality construction to high-level operation, and recording the "transformation" process of this "steel phoenix" after completion. While showcasing China's scientific and technological strength, it also allows the audience to understand how Daxing International Airport has become a "smart airport" with world advanced level. The international version is co-produced by Beijing Sanduo Media Co., Ltd and Troisième Œil Productions, with each episode being 52 minutes and more compact content. It includes first-hand interviews with designers from the French design team, adds the content from different perspectives of Chinese and French parties in the design and construction of Daxing International Airport on the basis of the domestic version, and also includes evaluations and feelings from more international partners on the airport.

In May 2022, the documentary premiered on the French television channel "Science & Vie TV" and was subsequently broadcast for a second round on RMC Découverte in 2023. It has been distributed to various platforms, including the Czech Television, Portuguese National Television, Dubai Media, and Polish Television. Additionally, the documentary was showcased at the 6th West Lake International Documentary Festival (IDF2023) by The Third Eye. The international version of the documentary was shortlisted for the 11th China Academy Awards of Documentary Film and received a nomination for Best Editing. Furthermore, the film has been selected for inclusion in the China Documentary Research Center's The Case Library-Creation and International Communication of Chinese-themed Documentaries. A case study titled "DAXING: The Construction and Dissemination of Contemporary Chinese Image through 'Major National Project' Documentaries" was published in December 2023.
