2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kenya. Based on nearly 20 years of follow-up records, the film tells the story of Sherifu, a Kenyan girl pursuing her dreams, which connects the friendly exchanges between China and Kenya over hundreds of years. About 20 years ago, Sherifu, a descendant of Zheng He's crew, bravely embarked on a journey to study in China to learn traditional Chinese medicine. Today, Sherifu has completed her studies for a doctoral degree in medicine in China and brought the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine back to Kenya, becoming a disseminator and communicator of culture just like her ancestors who sailed across the oceans.
